Panoltia’s seminars are for bilingual people who are called upon to interpret in schools and in community settings. Besides learning effective  interpreting skills, participants also learn about Latino culture and how cultural differences can affect the immigrant’s understanding of  the American system.

   Co-developed by your instructor, Yasmin Wurts Metivier of Panoltia, Inc. and Eta Trabing of the Berkana Language Center,  this workshop is based on more   than 50 years of professional interpreter experience.


Community (HHS) Interpreter Training Level 1– 7 and 8 in Raleigh at the Mexican Consulate
Participant Prerequisites: Participants must be bilingual (English and Spanish). Cost $199 per person

 

HHS Interpreting Webinar – Starting November 7 very Monday night we’ll meet for two hours for six weeks. You can take it from the comfort of your home or office.
$299 (includes a free copy of “Manual for Community Interpreters” – a $60 retail value)

Each participant will receive a copy of “Manual For Community Interpreters – Second Edition” published by Berkana Language Center and Panoltia, Inc. ($60 retail value).


This is a high quality, state of the art one day seminar for bilingual teachers, counselors, clerical or administrative employees, or anyone else who is called upon to interpret in school settings.

Besides learning effective interpreting skills, participants also learn about Latino culture and how cultural differences can dramatically affect a student’s success.  The seminar includes practical role plays, and focuses on terminology used in educational settings.
Participant Prerequisites:
•       Level 1 – Must be bilingual (English/Spanish)
•       Level 2 – Must have successfully completed Interpreting For Educators – Level I
Fees:
•       Level 1 – $129 per person (includes a copy of “Manual For Interpreters In School Settings” published by Berkana Language Center and Panoltia, Inc., a $50 retail value).

Level II will continue with more practice, false cognates, common phrases used in schools and note taking exercises.
•       Level 2 – $99 per person
